  • When can I walk on my new concrete?

Please keep vehicles, children, pets, and yourself off of your newly poured concrete for the next 24 hours. After 24 hours, you can walk on your concrete, but avoid dragging your feet, twisting, or allowing your pets to walk on it as their claws can scuff the concrete. For quality concrete contractors, give us a call today.

  • When do you start water curing the concrete?

Normally, the final setting time of cement is 8 hours and then the water curing should start. Water twice a day for 7 days and air dry for the next 7 days. For quality concrete contractors, give us a call today.

  • When will we apply a sealer?

We will seal your driveway, service walk, and concrete steps 14-21 days after the last placement of concrete. To avoid stains on your new concrete, please keep clean of dirt and leaves. For quality concrete contractors, give us a call today.

  • How long before you can drive on a newly sealed concrete driveway?

Depending on the temperature and humidity of the air, you should keep vehicles off the new surface for 2-3 hours. For quality concrete contractors, give us a call today.

  • How long before I can drive on my new concrete?

You may drive and park your personal vehicle on your new concrete surface after 7 days. Your new concrete is designed to reach 90% of its full strength potential after 7 days. It will take additional time before you can drive or park heavy equipment or machinery on your concrete, so make sure to wait at least 30 days. For quality concrete contractors, give us a call today.

  • Why is my concrete different colors?

Concrete may appear discolored in certain areas as it takes up to 60 days for the concrete to be fully cured. This may cause the concrete to look spotty in areas because there are different amounts of moisture evaporating from each section of your concrete. Please do not be alarmed as this is a normal occurrence and will fade in time. For quality concrete contractors, give us a call today.

  • Why does my concrete crack?

All concrete cracks. We are very skilled with the type of concrete mix we use and where we design our control joints. Hairline cracks do not affect the structural integrity of your new concrete. Please call your project designer for more information. For quality concrete contractors, give us a call today.

  • What do you call the lines in concrete?

The lines cut into concrete are called control joints. Control joints are used to control where your concrete cracks, helping keep your concrete surface level. For quality concrete contractors, give us a call today.

  • Can I use salt on my concrete?

Salts or any other deicers should not be used on your concrete. Any salts or deicers claiming to be safe for concrete can actually damage your concrete surface. The best way to keep your concrete safe in the winter is to keep it clean with a plastic shovel and to use kitty litter or sand for traction. For quality concrete contractors, give us a call today.
